clean beauty & sustainable style

Why Bejot?

I’m recently married, but I wanted to still pay homage to my maiden name. My last name greatly influenced who I became - I love France.

How is it pronounced?

Bringing the simplicity of French culture and consumerism

And let’s be real — the domain was available.

The average woman throws away 82 pounds of clothing a year. Fast fashion factories in China and India, like H&M, Zara and Asos, are linked to the pollution of local waterways in and the emission of “noxious gases.”

The United States hasn’t passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.

And, there are more than 80,000 chemicals on the market today in the skincare and beauty industry without concrete data. We have no idea how those chemicals are affecting our bodies and our environment.

Together, we can use the power of our spending to impact these human rights and environmental issues.

Are we going to solve all the world’s problems? Maybe not. But we can still make a difference. It’s like the Lorax says: “unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

Together, we can live our values and wear our values.

We don’t have to compromise our budget or our style with our belief that everyone deserves a fair wage. We can demand transparency from the fashion industry. We can embrace who we are and dress accordingly. It’s a new way of shopping.

Together, we can put the truth back in beauty.

We can swap harmful ingredients for cleaner alternatives. We can do beauty differently and still have performing products. We can look as good as we feel.

I’m here to show you how to shop for good. I want to show you that your values, your budget and your shopping can align. I’m going to take you step-by-step through swapping out your toxic beauty products and building a more sustainable closet.

Your clothes and beauty products should make you look good, feel good and do good.

I keep to an 80/20 philosophy with everything in life because I believe in balance. Let’s not make life more stressful than it should be. Sometimes you’re in a wedding and need to wear waterproof mascara, and that's okay.

"What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."

- Jane Goodall
